Accomplishments:
For over 30 years, Carolyn Cairns practiced employment law as litigator and counselor on behalf of both employers and employees, handling a wide range of matters including discrimination, harassment, wage and hour violations, wrongful termination, contract claims, covenants not to compete, and trade secret violations. Additionally, Ms. Cairns has served as a mediator and arbitrator in employment and other commercial cases, including class actions, since the late 1980’s and continues to serve as a Rule 39.1 mediator for federal court disputes.
Ms. Cairns regularly speaks at seminars and employment institutes on a wide range of topics pertaining to alternative dispute resolution and employment law and authored the chapter titled “Mediation of Employment Disputes” in the Washington State Trial Lawyers’ Employment Law Deskbook.
