His mediation experience includes a wide variety of environmental, energy, natural resources, real estate, insurance, contract, and tort matters. He frequently mediates disputes involving CERCLA, state superfund statutes, the Clean Water Act, and other federal and state statutes. Drawing on the deep knowledge he acquired throughout his career, he brings a highly informed understanding of the complexities and practical considerations relevant to resolving disputes.
Mark previously was a partner at Perkins Coie, LLP. Before that, he was a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, Environmental Enforcement Section, Environment & Natural Resources Division, and a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Jerome Farris on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Prior to joining WAMS, Mark served as lead counsel in some of the most significant environmental matters in the country, including the Lower Duwamish Waterway, Portland Harbor Superfund Site, and Kalamazoo River Superfund Site. He represented clients in landmark soil, groundwater, sediment, and natural resource damage proceedings.
